  1. It would take 4 college years plus 2 years of a masters degree plus at least 2 more years of Phd. And no they don't make a lot of money... I'd estimate around $60,000 a year. There are lots of career websites that give you specific numbers. Also there are lots of alternatives to being a psychologist.

    i.e. marriage or family therapy

    i.e. psychiatry

    i.e. school counselor

  2. It will take 4-5 years for a Bachelor's degree, plus 2 years for a Master's degree, and then another 4 years for a PhD. So you're looking at a minimum of 10 years of post-secondary school. Keep in mind you need a PhD to call yourself a psychologist. The better jobs require a PhD. You won't be rich, but you can certainly afford to eat steak every night if you wanted to (starting salary for a psychologist working in a hospital is between $70,000-90,000).

  3. 4 years undergrad, 5-6 of graduate school for a Ph.D.  There are many types of psychologists.  Do some reading on apa.org

There is also salary info there.  Yes, psychologists can make alot of money...Ph.D.'s can make a high  6 figure income.  160,000+/year.
