I want to be a better person. do you have any suggestions?

Apologize in person to those people that you feel you have wronged and ask for their true forgiveness. I did it. Made me feel like I lifted a weight off my back.

You should start by figuring out what makes you a bad person, and fix that first. You should try to be a better friend, son or daughter, boyfriend or girl friend, sister or brother, start with the ones around you first. Religion is always a way to go too, but if anything do on to others as you would want them to do to you! And thats pretty much it, you know right from wrong!

It will just come to you once you make the commitment. You'll know that things are falling into place once karma takes NO time to come back to you.

You are already a better person. Who says you are a bad person? All  Religions of this world define humanity as a whole is very bad and sinned. But it is not so. Everything in this universe is very good. Change your perspective from a religious point of view to a humanistic view; then you view everything is good and You Yourself  is then a WONDERFUL CREATION OF THIS UNIVERSE. So don't judge on yourself that you are a bad person.

follow the ways of the buddha.  You don't have to be buddhist or religious at all to use the teachings as a guide.  You can say that of most religions, but within buddhism there is more logic and reasoning than the blind following of a deity.  Try the book,  The Art of Happiness, by the dalai lama.  Otherwise, try to be aware of what is around you and what seems worth doing to you.  Help others and you will help yourself.

Dont cultivate being a better person this is like pretending, like being a paid actor, instead raise your awareness of the things you do and you will naturally become a better person instead of trying to be a better person.
