  1. Yes the surgery is helpfull enough provided u consult a good ophthamalogist

  2. Do not have Lasik done!

My eye doctor wears glasses and also owns a big Lasik business. Lasik does not work well 100% of the time.Glasses can. Glasses can be undone by taking them off.

I suggest visiting a flight training school. My understanding is that you can become a commercial airline pilot if your vision can be corrected to 20/20 with glasses. The flight training school will have all the rules on this and other issues.

  3. I have a commercial pilot certificate.  There is NO eyesight requirement to get any pilot rating.

What IS required is a medical certificate.  Vision CORRECTED to 20/40 for a third class medical (Private Pilot), and vision corrected to 20/20 for first and second class medical certificates.  (ATP and Commercial pilot privelages, respectavely).

What this means is that, you will have no problem getting hired if you wear glasses or contacts as a civilian pilot.  Military is another story, but to be a commercial pilot, you just need to have vision correctable to 20/20.  In fact, many commercial pilots wear contacts or glasses, myself included.

(I am too afraid LASIK might s***w up my eyesight to mess with it.)

  4. Lasik eye surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her dental implants and Lasik surgery in India by a company called Indian Health Guru Consultants. The Price for dental and Lasik surgery is very less in India. She paid 25% of the price she was quoted in America.

Indian Health Guru Consultants is very famous in India They arrange Dental surgery, jaw surgery, Lasik eye surgery, Dental Implants etc for foreign patients in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines- about their patient stories.

They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as dental and eye surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

    Hope this helps.

  5. Anone can become a pilot with the certain qualifications and have passed the physical. As for your eyesight, you have to have 20/20 corrected or better.

  6. Have the Lasik that would improve your eyesight.

You can still fly commercially, as long as your vision is correctable to 20/20.

  7. i had the same thing, but a really long time ago. . . i'd defniitely go for the lasik  - but go to a real ophthalmologist first to get a professional opinion - some of those "clinics" will tell you anything to get your $ - good luck!

  8. 3 + / - will do.

    otherwise , you cant ........

    sorry

  9. Honestly, you don't stand a chance.  The flight schools will tell you anything, and you could even pass the flight tests.  But nobody will hire you (the same goes for really BIG pilots or fat pilots).   Sure, you'll have fun learning, but since it will cost you $200,000 for the training, it might not be a good investment.
