I want to be a detective when i get older.

Question

is there a way to make alot of money as a detective with out taking bribes and blood money and what not?

I want something cool , like secret agent someting big not some small money loitering case or minor homicide case.

how much money and how many year in school do i have to go.

Take a law enforcement course , get hired by a law enforcement agency. Work your way up through the ranks.

Well the way to go about that is to first be a police officer. You must work your way up the ranks and earn the rank of detective... And there are ways that you can do it w/o taking bribes..

But something that you always must remember is that ALL POLICE OFFICERS ARE CROOKED...

in a way.

all it takes is one time for you to let a friend off of a speeding ticket..

then you become like the rest. so consider all of these things before you choose law enforcement as your career path...

But something that you can do is join tha Military and that could give you a leg up.

It doesnt matter what case you get the money is the same. And if you want to get big money than law enforcement isnt for you. And all detectives start out as Patrol officers. You have to take the case that is assigned to you.

well. if you are a detective and you take bribes and blood money and what not you will get fired.

secret agent and detective are totally different and no homicide is a minor homicide. its a major homicide to somebody. sounds like you might like doing undercover work if you ever get hired which with the way you are talking you never will.

most places just require a high school diploma to start out as a normal police officer and pretty much after that you just need to get job expierence. you probably wont move up anywhere until after 5 years

You:  I don't want to take brides or anything.  I ACTUALLY want to be a secret agent, you see I thought they were the SAME as Detectives until just now.  

Question:  What do you think this job entails?

You:  Well, I don't want some small money loitering case, or a MINOR homicide case.  I want something cool.

You:  No sir, there's something about me animals don't like.

You will do patrol work before you ever get a whiff of investigative divisions.  You will work burglary, theft and other lesser crimes before you can even glimpse bigger crimes.  This is just a fact of life.  The alternative route is Federal.  FBI, DEA, ATF, ICE, Secret Service and others will let you start out with somewhat more important case work.  Of ocurse you'll need college for sure.  Military is a big plus as well.  There are no easy roads to the good stuff.   Pay the price if you want the reward.

If money is your thing do something else.

If you are looking for "big money" this is not the career for you. There is no big money. Most people that get into law enforcement do it to serve others. You have the wrong motivation my friend.Find another career.
