HHHELLPP!!!!

I know its a tough buisness, and I see every day what's going on with the rumors and the young stars, but its one of those things that if when you wake up in te morning and thats all you can think about then thats what you should do and do it with all your heart . so I'm willing to work as hard as I can for it.

  1. Do a search on famous actress or famous singer on YA and see how many questions have been asked in the last week. I answer at least one a day it seems.

Do you love acting or singing or modeling -- is the art your passion or the fame?

If it is the fame then you are not in it for the right reasons -- honestly many professionals are in the business who are not famous and it is not due to lack of talent but due to politics and discrimination (as in my field where only 1% of Broadway plays were written by women in the last ten years -- less than in the early days of Broadway) or simply un-controllable factors of the industry.

What is it you wake up in the morning thinking about? The big house and fancy car and the parties and clothes? Or the challenge of a new song or new part to play or new photoshoot?

If you are less into the work than the perks that would go with being famous then you are on a frustrating road.

    Having said that...

    Acting auditions:

    to get you started

and you can also search on Craigslist for your city/area.

Sing and act in local productions right now to build up your resume AND improve your craft.

Study theater in college when the time comes.

See if you can take voice lessons or acting lessons locally and improve your craft.

Even Oscar winning actors and actresses still have acting coaches or take acting classes when they are not in production. One never reaches perfection in any art form where there is not more they can learn.

Work harder than you ever thought you were capable of and perhaps something will come of it.

Singing -- get a karaoke accompaniment to some of your favorite songs. Practice them for weeks. Then perform at a talent show or something like that and get someone with a decent video cam to make you a video you can upload to You Tube and see what response you get.

  2. please listen to the above answer from amyhpete.  fame should not be a goal because it is not a realistic one.  but it is a realistic goal to have a career in the arts.  there are a lot of us out there who are very humbly working hard with a good deal of success, but you wont see us in the tabloids or recognize our names.  these are competitive fields.  i promise you that if you want it you can make it your career.  but you will not be an overnight sensation.  go to school.  study acting and music at a good college.  start small with community theater productions.  read books about the craft and the business.  ask around and get info and connections from teachers and local classes.  do this for the right reasons and you will succeed.  expect immediate fame and you are bound for disappointment, that just plain doesnt happen... if it did we would ALL be rich and famous!! :) good luck
