  1. Ankle weights did it for me. I started with 20 lbs weights on each ankle and worked my way up to 30's.Being a small guy you probably don't want to use that much at first, it makes it hard to run, but try ankle weights out around 10-15 lbs. My forty time went from a 6.2 to a 5.6 in about a month and a half, for a 340 lb guy thats not bad lol.  Lunges help a lot, any kind of a hamstring/calf workout will be really good too.

  2. run track ot cross country

  3. Well 3-4 months prior to girls soccer season starting for me, I usually break out my rope ladder (you could even take some sticks and create your own) and begin my work out with around 20-25 of those in my back yard (thats after warming up of course and total I do around 50 with 10 different combos). After that I usually run laps through my neighborhood and switch it up every 4-5 minutes by picking a random mailbox and sprinting to it jog then repeat, followed by some jump roping/ and stair climbing at your school track. The only way to get better at running is do it often, not pick the same path, and increase your sprint times. I'd also recommend finding a running buddy to help push you. :] Good luck!
