I want to be a fighter pilot. do i have to do jrotc in highschool AND rotc in college?

  1. no only the collage rotc if you want an advantage. to be a pilot you need to be an officer and to be an officer you need a bachelors degree


  2. Fighter Pilots are generally graduates of the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

  3. No, but you need a college degree and it should be in a challenging major (science or math).


  4. No you don’t need JROTC or even ROTC but it can’t hurt. Your major wont really matter I know plenty of Hornet pilots and other Fighter aircraft pilots who Majored in underwater basket weaving, that said a good number are also engineers of some sort. What really matters is how well you do in flight school, if you want jets be at the top. For the Navy, Marines and Air Force you will need to be a full officer to fly Fighters. Navy Warrant officers can now fly P-3s and Helos but not Fighters. Army Warrants might fly A-10's I’m not sure, but they do fly Helos.
