I want to be a game designer, DigiPen is way too expensive. Please help?

alright, I want to be a game designer. Do i need ANY C C++ or java? What should i take at what college to help me land a job making games(My Passion).

  1. Most professionally made games are written in C++ over Java.  Sure Java is easy to learn but the reality is you can just simply do more in C++.  Java's GUI (graphics user interface ... making the program LOOK good) in my honest opinion is one PitA.  Learn C++ with some online tutorials.  Take any Computer Science classes you can find.  Most importantly, read up -- there's always room to learn more.


  2. if you want to be a game programmer then you should learn C++/C or Java. C++/C is the current standard if I'm not mistaken, but also Java will run on any computer with java installed. I suggest java because of the reason above and its a LOT easier to learn. The best way to gain ideas for games is to look at whats available.

    I am currently working on becoming a Programmer(I'm learning Java, and I'm 13). I wish you luck :)
