  1. Learn Dot net in particular. Choose the following skill set: HTML, JAVA SCRIPT, PHP, CSS,DHTML,XHTML,XML,ASP,ASP.NET,JAVA,J2E...

  2. Learn HTML and CSS first. Those are the basic building blocks of web design. You could either take a class or learn by yourself from a book or online. Here's one good website for exactly that: http://www.html.net/

After (better yet, during) that, I'd practice just making a bunch of websites, even ones you don't put online. The next step I think would be to learn to use PHP, which would help you kind of streamline your site and reduce repeated code.

Web development takes a lot of practice, and if you're serious about it, I'd recommend taking classes to get more hands-on work. Always be looking at how some of your favorite websites combine pleasing graphics with simplicity. You want your sites to be both straight-forward and organized.

    Good luck!

  3. Since you mention "good", I assume you already know web developing. Few things I recommend for a starter. Use Firefox and get few key add-ons:

    Web Developer

    HTML Tidy

    Firebug

    IE Tab

Those are few free tools that will assist you to follow the web standards in your websites.

Go a little advance, learn PHP and later on, try AJAX. That's probably enough for now! :)

  4. First of all, you should learn the language used in websites, HTML. You can find a very comprehensive guide here: http://www.w3schools.com/HTML/

HTML can be created with any plain text editor like Notepad for Windows or gedit or kwrite for Linux.

After you have a lot of experience with HTML, you may want to learn more advanced styling with CSS. CSS can also be created with any plain text editor. You can find a very comprehensive guide here: http://www.w3schools.com/CSS/

Once you've mastered HTML and CSS, you can move on to more advanced technologies, like Javascript, PHP, and ASP. You can find tutorials on all of those and more at: http://www.w3schools.com/
