  1. Hi Sophie, my advice to you would be to stay at school / college, get top grades, get a well paid job and when you go on holiday to Turkey you can call those rep's to put right anything thats gone wrong with your holiday!!! Other than that, if you're really set on being a rep, tell yourself you have to be 18 or older, it helps massively if you can speak any other languages, you've got to have an out-going personality and be prepared to live away from home for 9-10 months of the year! Go for it - its hard, its rough but you'll have the time of your life!!! Best of luck to you x

  2. youre 14 stay at home and do 14 year old things.

  3. you are only 14 and you don't know anything about being a holiday rep but you want to a rep in turkey? i myself have travelled around the world quite a bit and have never seen a 14 year old  holiday rep. at your age you should stick to school and study hard so you could get a batter job then a rep. but if that is what you really want to be good luck. p.s.. i only get 1week of the year to go on holidays and hate getting up at 8:30 to see the rep because they are real morning people  and i hate morning people.

  4. Hi Sophie,

The advice about learning languages is good. Other things you need to know are the hours are very long! Although a work contract will state maybe 40 hrs a week, it will usually say + any hours needed to do the job properly! It can very tough mid season when it is the busiest & the hottest & you have to keep smiling no matter how you feel.

You can meet some wonderful people doing this job, but remember there will also be the awful ones that will moan about everything. There is nothing wrong with anyone with a real problem, that is what you're there for, but you would be surprised how many people want to moan to you about the weather, the times of local buses, how crowded the beach is, in fact all sorts of things that you can't do anything about!

It can be rewarding when you try really hard to make someones holiday & they do remember to thank you.

Don't forget all the things you may have to deal with that are not so nice, people who have accidents, illness & sometimes a death.

Another good thing to help you is to learn all you can about the area/country/island you work in, the more knowledge you have the more helpful you can be.

The job is tough, you will have good & bad times, the hours are long & the pay is awful, but you can get to see some of the world!

Continue with your studies & look at other ideas for jobs, you can still be a rep for a few years, but not many make a career out of it, so have other choices for when you need them!
