Hi, I'm a freshman in high school in California. I'm almost absolutely sure i want to be a marine biologist, but i'm not exactly sure how to get there. I'm a certified National Geographic Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver (in other words, really advanced.) I'm sure that this may help me in the future, although i'm not sure how. Next summer i will also be going on a special trip that focuses a lott on marine biology, marine education, and scuba diving that last 3 weeks out in the Caribbean. I'm hoping this experience may asloe in the future. I'm not really sure what steps i can take other than that to achieve my goal. If you can give me any advice, on maybe some extra programs i can do to improve my experiences, or some classes i can take, plz share, thanx

  1. Go to a college or university for 4 years. Major in biology, zoology, or marine biology if they have it. Go to a grad school and get your masters in it. Along the way see if you can get internships and experiends. In College you will want to take english, Math, biology, physics, and anything they recquire or you know you need. Scuba diving probably will help. Just don't worry about it quite yet. you are only a freshman. Check out colleges that will help you get there. California and florida are probably the best for you. Good Luck!
