Question:

I want to be a mid-distants/sprinter runner

I might not do cross country this season cause running 3 miles doesnt really appeal to me any more. Since ive never liked distants that much how could i become a mid distants/sprinter? like excersises, lift weights, workouts, drills etc

  1. I agree with Dave.  I ran XC but I didnt really enjoy it, i was just decent at it.  Its good training for track.

    Look at running the 400 (mainly a speed race)

    800m is fun (Speed, but also guts)

    1600 (Some speed, and endurance)


  2. Running cross country is the best training for track season. The end.

  3. lots of 400 meter runs..lots of interval training..running up a building with LOTS of stairs..the only weight lifting you should do is curls with dumbbells
