I want to be a model but how should i start?

i'm 16 years old and i'm 5'4 slim/ slender and i want to be a model a runway model all i know is i start with takin pictures of head shots anf body shots but what else do i need?

You need 5 more inches for runway.

Start by putting together a portfolio of some really awesome head shots.  If you know anyone who is good with a camera and makeup ask them for their help.  Give it your all when doing the shots like giving various looks and include some natural shots (without makeup)..

If your able ring round to various agencies or go in then do so.  Make multiple copies of your photographs so you can spread them around and leave all your details with them as well - name, contact etc. If you hear of any modelling competitions that come up SIGN UP for them.  Use all the avenues that you can. If you want to be discovered then i hope your willing to put in the hard yards to make that happen..

there is a company i used to work for called elite models. I went to a show they had in chicago then grabbed one of the models as he got off stage asked him how to sign up and who his planner was. when i applied i metioned the planners name and sent some head shots that was that. I got a couple small giggs but quit doing it when i got to college.

If you look around...newspapers... television and such, most of the time there are adds about little beauty pagents you can join. Try starting off with that first.
