you will have to start at the bottom level of emt.. (depending on the state, it will either be emt-b and then emt-i or other states start with emt-iv) after you get these, i agree with the other answerer work in the field for at least a year, so you will have some experience before you jump into the paramedic class (emt-p) it is a hard course.. different places offer the classes in different locations.. some hospitals, fire depts, ems depts, community or other colleges offer it.. do a google search for classes in your area, or call your local ambulance service and ask them where to get started. also, you might ask the ambulance service if you can do a ride along just to see if that is what you want to do..

Well to be a paramedic id recommend becoming an EMT-B and working as one for a while first. You can generally find EMT or paramedic courses at major hospitals. I don't think u need college credits to be a Paramedic but a background in biology cant hurt. Probably the best way to become an EMT/Paramedic would be to contact ur local Fire/EMS/Rescue Department and see if they will train you and if you can work for them.
