I am currently just enrolled in a commuity college majoring in Pharmacy Technology.

But I see alot of 8 month schools that offer a certificate would it be the same as my degree or is the degree better? Also is there anyways I can get to work in a pharmacy already with no knowledge of it yet?

  1. There is a huge difference between the training to be a pharmacist and the training to be a pharm tech.

For reliable information about pharmacy as a career, check the website of the AACP. that is the official national organization that coordinates info about all accredited colleges of pharmacy in the USA.

Pharmacists in the US have doctoral degrees that they earn in four year programs which they enter after completing a BS or at least two years of very difficult prerequisite courses, depending on the school.

In order to get into pharm school you must be an excellent student, at the top of your class, especially in chemistry.

    Good luck.
