  1. Make sure that you take as many science classes as possible, especially if you are looking at an accelerated program.  At a minimum, you need a year of biology, chemistry, and physics in high school.  If you school offers anatomy and physiology, take those too.

It also helps to have some experiance, and many programs require observation hours.  Talk to a local physical therapist and see if you follow them around.  This will also help you determine what being PT entails, and if it's something you really want to do.

I would also highly suggest becoming a student athletic trainer at your high school, if there is a program.  If you are looking at working with an athletic population, an undergrad degree in Athletic training is really the way to go.  By being a student athletic trainer in high school, you will be exposed to far more than the average student coming in.

  2. inculcate will to serve ,

  3. ATsoccer makes some good points.

Definetely take your sciences and math...bio, chem and physics...geometry, algebra, and trig/pre calculus.

I also agree with working with your school's athletic trainer...I did it myself, and that's how I became interested in physical therapy.

I would also suggest going to the APTA website at www.apta.org...they have a lot of information for prospective students.
