I'd like to be a psychologist when I get older, but I'm wondering if this is the right path. Any good books I can read about psychology for beginners?

  1. Katherine, there are a lot of different kinds of psychologists and someone might be able to make a better recommendation if it was known why you want to be one, or who you know that is a psychologist.  Did you meet a psychologist in your school?

  2. Check with your local library.  They can show you the different fields of Psychology and a description of each.  It's NOT to early to be thinking of college.  My nephew started going to college in 9th grade.  If your grades are high, it might be possible for you to take a class at the community college next year.  Check with your school counselor.

  3. Ask your parents to get your the Psychology Today magazine.  Lot of neat articles.  Maybe in a couple years buy an introduction of psychology text book.  Good Luck!!
