  1. Hello,

The 10-week plan below starts off by mixing running and walking.  By the end of 10 weeks, you'll be running 3 miles...non-stop.  It works.  The key is gradual increases in mileage...and patience.  The 2nd link has some good beginner running tips.  Best of luck.  It's a great life habit...stick with it!

  2. You should start out by walking every day for like 15-30 minutes for the first week so your body is getting used to all the running everyday and then keep on advancing from walking-jogging-sprinting-and then running and running farther and faster progressively on a daily basis and you'll be running like a mad person before you know it

  3. This site is really helpful: http://www.runnersworld.com/topic/0,7122...

It is the beginner section to the runners world site. It can answer alot of your questions that you might have when you start.

I recommend this plan- it says it is for a 5k race but it will help you even if you don't want to race.

  4. There is a couch to 5k program that will get you from nothing, to running 3 miles straight. It works and it's gradual, so it's not too brash or hard on you.

If you plan on running regularly, I would start off by going to a local running store and getting fitted for running shoes by people in the know.

  7. I do not know your fitness level but the best thing would be is to get a physical .Then start slow .Start by jogging slow for about 5 minutes .Then stretch Your legs. You should start out by running for one mile .Then go from there.
