I want to be a skater?

and not for just the looks! I mean I really want to skate! But wherever I look to get a skateboard, I can't get one, and then people call me a poser! (which i am NOT) so, tell me, where can I get a skateboard and some good shoes

There are plenty of online skate shops to choose from, but some of them are absolutely terrible.  I've bought from almost every online shop, and here's my favorites:

Just a tip, using the word "skater" to describe yourself is probably a reason people call you a poseur (yes, the correct spelling of "poser" is "poseur.")  When people ask if I'm a skater, I tell them "I skate."  You won't haear a good skateboarder refers to themselves as a skater, only skateboarder.

But don't worry about it.  EVERYONE gets called a poseur as they're starting out, it'll pass.

Dont worry, i have the same problem. If your looking for an easier way to learn and get a good skateboard, and some good skate shoes (i use Fallen), i recommend going to a store called Cowntown Skateboards. My ultimate resource for all skaters!
