Hi guys.. Well I came from argentina (so I speak spanish) and I live here right now. I was thinking, and I like the idea of being a spanish teacher :)

Anyway, the question is, do I have to study a lot if I already speak spanish?? And do I need a high school spanish certificate if spanish is my mother language?

Thanks.. ByeBye

  1. "me" is right. You need to go through the cset exams for Spanish at your college university and get the BCLAD certification as well. I recommend looking at TESOL or some sort of certification because knowing a language and understanding how to teach it from an ESL perspective are two VERY different things.

  2.   You will need to get a bachelor's degree and a teaching credential.  In California you would be required to take the CSET exam in Spanish. It will test your knowledge of written and spoken Spanish, as well as reading comprehension.  I imagine other states will also require some proof that you have a good knowledge of formal and informal Spanish. You probably won't need to study the language much if most of your education was in Argentina.

  3. you have to get a teaching degree from a college. you would want to major in education and minor in spanish.
