I want to be a sports journalist, help me with my subjects?

I am currently studying year 10 in Sydney and would like to do journalism. Can anyone tell me what subjects I should take in year 11 and 12??? or what i can do to get a foot in the door

I'm not Australian, but the advice is pretty universal. Take English, of course, and any writing courses that might be out there. The basics are always good -- history, science, math, etc. And work on the school newspaper. (If you don't have one, start one.)

There are journalism courses in some colleges. I've a believer in taking a wide variety of courses, because knowing a little bit about everything is helpful. I took a film class in college. Sports law. Marketing. Philosophy. Political science. It can't hurt.
