There are a few loan forgiveness programs for teachers that teach in low income schools. Also a teach grant that is new this year.

Run from the TEACH Grant.  You have to meet rediculous stipulations and check up on them often for it not to turn in to a loan.  It won't be pretty.  Once I tell students the rules for the grant, they decide against it...only one has taken me up on it so far.

there are numerous ways of paying for college and your first stop should be to get you FAFSA pin number and fill out your paper workonline for your EFC #

Start here and get this completed. It doesnt commit you to anything but gives you an idea of what you may qualify for as far as pell grants and the rest can be in government backed loans. The TEACH grant is a good thing too.
