I want to be a teacher?

i am 14 going into 9th grade and i want to know what will help me be more prepared or if you have suggestions on places to volunteer.

  1. When I was in high school we had to do community service & we were able to go to the younger schools & help out with after school programs.  You might ask your counselors if they have anything similar!


  2. if you're allowed to get an afterschool job, any summer camp or child care programs are a definite plus!  also, there are some tutoring programs in which high school students tutor middle school students, this would be a HUGE bonus.  honestly, though, many schools, both for college or for working, admire any kind of volunteer work because it will show that you understand the type of dedication it takes to be a teacher.

  3. Try getting a job if possible in an aftercare program, this are very helpful, also you can volunteer at churches or become a tutor! They are all great for experience and it they are all very rewarding since you're helping others in need.

  4. When you are 18 try to work or at least help out in a Pre-k facility. Good Luck to you! It is a rewarding  career!!
