I want to be a teacher- where can I find a mentor on-line?

I am currently working on a BS, (I'm a junior), and want someone or many people to give me advice and what they've learnt from their experiences. I don't even know what grade I want to teach!!! A good web site linking teacher candidates with veteran teachers would be great, if it exists. Does anyone know of this, or where I can find a teacher-mentor?

Thanks!!!

  1. Have you been to www.teachers.net? You can look  under "Chatboards" (at the top of the page) and you'll find all sorts of helpful information. If you scroll down to Regional Teachers.Net and look under your state you can post questions on the board.

  2. Normally your local district will match you up with a mentor as well as 1st and 2nd year teaching support group. If you know which district you will teaching in, go consult them. Even though I teach, the state standards, district mandates and the school set up is probably different.
