Question:

I want to be a trauma surgeon!?

Could someone help me i want to be a trauma surgeon but i didn't do so well in high school i was more into the popular and sports thang but now i have realized what life really is my gpa is around a 2.7 an i haven't even thought of taking a college based test yet. is there any chance that i can change things around.

  1. You still have great chances, as medical school is not concerned with your high school GPA. As long as you work hard and pull off a good undergrad GPA + MCAT scores you can be set on a physician career.

    Take your SAT/ACTs and apply to any accredited university institute you can afford. It doesn't matter where you apply(county, public, private), as long as they offer the basic courses required by medical school admissions:

    1 year General biology with lab

    1 year Physics with lab

    1 year General/inorganic chemistry with lab

    1 year Organic chemistry with lab

    1 year Calculus

    1 year English

    ace these courses, and proceed to pick a college major that isn't too hard for you. Do not take the any hard majors(sciences, engineering, math, etc) if you are not confident that you can graduate with a solid 3.2-4.0 science/overall GPA (something that I'm horribly at fault for, studying for the sake of studying.) Consult your school's career counselors, career advisers for their take on things.
