  1. Blackjack for blood outlines a VERY GOOD card counting strategy, it is an excelent book, however the strategy is best sueted for single and doubel deck games which arnt very common anymore, so in a sense the book is outdated unless youll be playing in vegas.   Im sure there is still lots to be learned from it though.

You will totally be able to dominate blackjack so long as you dedicate the time neccessary to learn everything, the most time consuming part is memorisation of tables.  The system that book outlines is also a very difficult system to use, and almost impossible to use in multiple deck games, id recoment a simpler one for a first time conter, if you want a more powerful one try looking up the zen system, side counts will be very diffiult to emply while yor still trying to master evry other aspect fo the game, you need a clear mind to be able to do that in adition to everthing else.

http://www.qfit.com sells books on blackjack, im not suggestin yo buy them there, but they revew them before they sell them and they only sell books they beleive are worthe reading so check out what they are sellig and go for one of those becasue i do recomend a different book for a first timer.

  2. have a bankroll to handle the swings.  perfect play does not mean consistent winning in the short run

  3. Might I suggest a different idea?  How about poker?  Specifically no limit Texas Hold'em.

A girl just won over two million dollars in the first European World Series of Poker.  She was 18, and had been playing since she was 15.

The problem with Blackjack is that you are playing the house.  They can change the rules and the odds to hurt you.  They can simply kick you out if they think you are too good.  They don't want you to win.

Compare that with poker.  The game is played against other players, not the house.  So the house doesn't care if you win or lose.  You can dominate the game, take everyone's money and they don't care at all!

So if I were 16 right now, looking to learn a game, poker would be my focus.  There is a lot of money in that game right now, and if you work hard on your game playing play money, you could be quite an expert by the time you are old enough to play for real.

Just my two cents.  Whatever you decide.  Good luck.

  4. Dominate blackjack and do better at the lottery.

Oh I love it.... Your so young!!

If you want to read something try any of Stanford Wongs books. Maybe one day you'll ask yourself why would a casino casino manager tell you about the most respected author in his field.

  5. I have not read that particular book, but I have read several other books on blackjack and have learned something new from each. I suggest you keep reading.

If you ace stat you will understand you cannot improve your odds in the lottery, and you will learn some (but not all) of the reasons you will have trouble dominating blackjack.

Aside from banning you, the casino can take other steps to make card counting ineffective. The can order a shuffle every time the count is in your favor. They can distract you. They can even bring in a cheating dealer. (Most casinos would not bring in a cheating dealer, but I am sure you could find at least one that would.)

  6. I have not read the book you mention. Good luck in acing statistics, but that alone will not help you dominate the game of blackjack, nor will it help you with the lottery.

Lottery drawings are unique and independent events and the numbers drawn have no relationship to past drawings, (unless the method has a mechanical flaw, or is dishonest) nor do they provide any basis for a system or for a progression. You will learn why in your stat class.

As for blackjack, yes, a knowledge of the odds is essential for successful play, but knowing the odds alone will not let you dominate the game. As for reading something else, here are a few suggestions, and you don't have to buy them, lol.

Here is a link to some free Blackjack Strategy. On the pages you will find advice on bankroll money management, casino comps (freebies), rules variations, and strategies. These may help.

It also helps to take a total approach to the game, and here is a free strategy called Binomial Blackjack.

Good luck in the stats class and at the tables.

And the advice to learn poker is also pretty good!

  7. unless you can count you cant beat blackjack in the long run.  The house has the odds its only a mall percent but odds are odds and you cant beat them

oh ya and counting now adays is not nearly as effective as it once was because the casinos are using more and more decks

  8. i would agree with others on here try to get in to poker.. you play against others not the house. much safer and easy. plus there is more money involved in poker. blackjack is for vegas when you want to get away everything lol .. poker is the way to go ..
