I want to be able to run fast...?

Ok...When i say im not athletic i mean this....you either get ur natural sports people and ur not so natural sports people...well thats me...i can play sports, dont get me wrong, but im not like a sports person...im always at athletics carnivals for school and i never want to practipate in them cos i know i will loose...i know the training for long distances but as for 100m and 200m races can anyone give me some good training excerices...like i know im not going to become the best runner but i want to compete and win something cos im always sitting out...in other words i want help to make me run faster alot faster...thankyou to all those poeople that answer this question and help me out :)

  1. You only need to do two things. Get very strong and practice short, top speed sprints. Locomotion scientist proved the fastest runners have the most muscular support force at ground contact resulting in shorter contact times and longer strides. This means you need isometric strength. Try leg presses where you lift the weight with both legs but hold the weight with one leg, knee slightly bent, on ball of foot. Hold as much weight as you can for 10-20 seconds. Do 3-6 holds on each leg in a session and workout 2 or 3 times a week. Do short top speed sprints to bring out the elastic qualities of your new strength.
