ok. if you have been to a racebook in a casino you know that they have tv's all over. however the first tv has say TurfParadise on with live feed and the second tv has Meadowlands live and the third tv has Laurel Park live and so on...Well I have 5 tv's in my basement where I would like to have the same setup like them. all i have know is phonebet tv (a channel on basic cable everybody gets) however it only shows one race at a time and not always live.

So what do I have to do to get LIVE horse racing on my tv's

In other words just like the baseball package on digital cable where the phillies are on ch 751 and the mets on ch 752 and san fran on ch 753. i want to be able to watch Meadowlands on ch 781 and Turf Paradise on ch 782 and Phila Park on ch 783 and soo. How do I do this?

I know i need a satellite but then what do i do. Do i get dish network or direct tv? then what...I have to obviously order a package or can they give me a live feed?

I want a mini racebook !

  1. There are 2 horse racing channels, TVG and HRTV. Directv, owned by, and now known as Hughes, only carries 1 channel, as someone else noted, but it also requires that you pay for expanded programming, since it's not included in the basic package.

Dishnetwork carries both channels, and they are included in the basic package. I went with Dishnetwork, more bang for my buck. Sometimes, one of the ESPN channels will also have racing coverage. I have DVR, and can digitally record 1 channel, while watching 1, or record 2 channels, while watching a previously recorded program.

Later on, when I decided I wanted satellite internet, I did buy a Hughes dish, just for my internet service, but still have the Dishnetwork, free dish, for my TV viewing.

In order to get the live feed you're interested in, you have to be a race track, rasino, or OffTrackBetting operation, and purchase simulcasting rights to the various tracks you carry, and provide bettors with the opportunity to wager on those races!

  2. check out dish network, they should have various feeds.

  3. i don't think you can do it unless you have like 5 dishes and many slave recievers. each track has it's own site.  that would be a lot of money.  is it worth it. i live in omaha. horsemen's park has 4-5 satellite dises and i don't know how many slave recievers. just to run 20 tracks.

  4. Well, I have Directv and, as far as I know, all you can get for horse racing is TVG, one channel of it. TVG does not even carry HRTV so races broadcast live on HRTV are shown on a delay on TVG. I really don't think you can do this live multi-fed in your home since I don't think any cable provider offers live feeds from various tracks to residential customers. Would be cool, though...

  5. On Dish network you can get HRTV and TVG.............right next to each other on the dial..................probably would need a multi channel reciever to do it for more than 2 tracks...............good luck
