But I'm young and female. Nobody is going to take me seriously even though I've just graduated in IT / Networking. Does anyone know of any good, young, IT websites / magazines? Preferably in the UK or Europe

  1. YES people will take you seriously.

Take time to read other mags as all will have a definite style and

    article length etc.

Look out for mags or web sites that take reader reviews and practice writing articles.

The ability to research is also important.

You can write to mags and ask them if they take on trainees

maybe also look out for any courses in journalism that you can take to enhance your CV.

    Good luck.

  2. IT journalist???

Here is a tip, my last job in the UK before retiring ,was technician author, I was an instrument control engineer prior to that.

A technical author is not much like a journalist, but all you need is a very good knowledge of your trade, and be able to type a bit.

I was very surprised to see loads of young women in my office space, doing the same job, they had never actually been on a 'field' job working, but like your self they were qualified.

Now this journalist thing you are asking about sounds like a waste of space to me , you will get nothing out of that.

A tech' author is very well paid, I dont want to ramble on forever on here, you can contact me if you need more info.

  3. We are not in the 80s any more and being female is zero excuse for not getting on in any industry!!!!
