I want to be an actress....

i want to be an actress and i do have the talent...but why do my parents don't want me to be a ACTRESS but it is okay if i get a little teeny weeny role in a movie...like for 2 mins....why can't they let me be an actress.....i am good in academics....but i have the passion for bollywood and acting...how do i tell them this....why don't they want me becoming an actress....they are not strict...but are strong at this point.....they say that they don't like it....and it involves lots of exploitation

Not so simple girl!! Film world is filthy....and obviously your parents are concerned about you. If you think you got that charm and x factor in you, then go for it.

Be practical. do not live in fantasy world of bollywood. That is not the reality what you see on TV. Study or know about the real life of present actresses. most of them have filmy background. If your Parents are not want then do not do it.

well they are right... all the scandels...after trying hard for 2 - 3 years you have to compromise with a producer who might give you a role but can even deny later.... its not worth it...

I think they are not interested in acting & probably not a good line for a career. The answer for your question is in the question itself i.e. exploitation. Simply they'll not give you a role but you have to expose & may be what more they expect from you and many unknown things are there which you'll know only after entering the field. Probably this is why your parents doesn't want you to go for acting.

well if your still young them maybe they don't want to get you started in something you wont want to do. Also, I you are lucky and are good enough to get into movies or something, what will happen to your grades and school? Maybe they don't like what a lot of actresses are like. A lot of them make bad decisions. They are just looking ou for you.

Your parents have ur best interests at heart. bollywood is a big bad world. u have to meet al kinds of people there. but if have the talent, u can give it a try. but first get on with ur education n earn ur degree. then as a mature adult u can convince ur parents to support u n go about it in the right way...goodluck...

Do your parents own you and all your decisions? Forget what they say, pack your bags and head for Bollywood..... (just keep your wits about you!)

Seems as if your parents only want what's best for THEM, not you....
