I love flying. Right now im taking lessons in an ultralight. I want to become a pilot for the air force, and maybe even navy. I want to fly big cargo jets or refueling planes. I saw this site though that went through the training steps for pilots in the air force and the navy and it said during a certain phase of pilot training, you learn aerobatics in a t-6 or another plane. I was blown away. I just wanted to fly big planes. I had no intensions of learning any aerobatics. I learned though its important to learn them if you want to be a military aviator though.

My question is....Does doing aerobatics in a military trainer plane feel like a roller coaster? I can't handle roller coasters. I have been on small roller coasters, but i can't handle the usual ones. the ones with steep slopes and flips and corkscrews! Just hate it! but i was wondering if i could make it through the aerobatics portion of the air force's pilots training?

Tips to my fear of roller coasters and aerobatics.

please please , good tips and info......;

thanks!

  1. If you want to fly heavies in the Air Force, you will not be subjected to high-G's whatsoever. Those planes seldom put out more G's than riding in a commercial airliner.

    You will train in the T-6 and T-1 when you are training for flying cargo/tankers. You do some aerobatics(not much), but remember, when you are in control of the plane, it is a lot easier to not get sick. Just like me, when I drive, I dont get car sick, when someone else does and I ride in the car, I get sick. If you really want to fly, then go for it and don't let someone on yahoo answers persuade you either way, you have to do what you want.

    I know fighter pilots who puked in their mouth in the G testing, and swallowed it to keep from being DQ'ed. If you want it, you will get it. Be a man and fulfill your dreams and don't let anyone tell you that you cannot do, esp. on yahopo answers(poser central).

  2. If you don't like rollercoasters then I doubt you'd make it through training.

    Part of it is coping with much higher G forces

    IMO
