  1. It's not a problem.  Glasses protect your eyes from splatter of blood, sputum, urine... whatever is flying.

See an ophthalmologist and discus your options.  Lasik may help so that you don't need glasses that are as thick.

    Good luck.

  2. Your wanting to be an anesthesiologist not a pilot.  You will be fine. Anyway, you will know long before you  are a anesthesiologist.

  3. I recently had surgery and my anesthesiologist had very thick glasses that made his eyes look really big. So I think you'll be fine, especially if your vision is 20/20 when corrected.

Another option is you could have laser eye surgery - I had that done years ago, and so did my husband and my father in law, and we all see 20/20 now!

  4. It really shouldn't be a problem. I work with some that wear glasses.

  5. If you can see well enough to see this post, your eyesight is probably good enough for that specialty. I've seen a lot of anesthesiologists that wear glasses, it's perfectly normal. You might have some probs with the very small injections (like an epidural to a kid or something). As for your appearance to be a hinderance, most of your patients will be knocked alseep and won't care if you have Moe Szyslak's face.

Now, if you wanted to be a surgeon, you'd probaby have problems because you need good near eyesight to operate.
