Question:

I want to be better at spareing?

hi im 15 and been doing boxing for almost 2 years. i started boxing because i used to have alot of anger problems and fighting helped me calm down and ****. in my first fight i won and managed to kock him off his feet. my second fight was alot tougher and i lost by geting knocked down with bust mouth nose and was really ****** up i have lost sevral more fights as my convedence went and started to not enjoy spareing, ive heard of pogrammes and **** you can do to help you i have the powe,skill just not the convedence. i know that to be a good boxer you need to fight good boxers. but plz help me out. what should boxers be eating, i am 6,0ft almost and weight about 150 pounds i wanna bulit musle and **** i got my next big fights cumming up in octomber i train ******* hard but dont gain alot of musle. thnks for da comemnts

  1. hey bro, look at it like this, u obviously have the heart or u would have quit after your first loss, so ur past that, now all u gotta do is work a lil harder and u will start to win, watch the Rocky movies, they always seemed to motivate me alot, always pray to Jesus Christ that he will be with u and keep close to him and if this is what ur meant to do then it will fall into place, oh and stop puttin stars and stop cussin period, it makes u look bad, but i hope i helped u , God bless.

  3. when you work out use light weights not heavy weights, when u box lighter weights strengthens your muscles hence making your punches stronger, also run, run, run run, the more energy and stamina you have the stronger your punches remain, when u r not training stand in front of a mirror and work on your foot work, better balance creates stronger punches and it will keep you from getting knocked down, and the most important a strong defence leads to a strong offence, work on your head movement, body movement and shoulder tuck(watch mayweather his chin is alwys in his shoulder). . as far as confidence it is in your heart no one can teach u that.. hope this helps and good luck young'n

  5. just keep training hard and you will get better. this is not something that happens over night. If you want to get better at sparing you have to spar. Also constantly be working on technique and strategy when you aren't sparing. As for more muscle mass... Don't worry so much about this b/c that will develop also. If you are not already you need to be cross training and not just doing boxing. best thing for someone your age is to concentrate on any exercise you can do that doesn't involve weights...

    pull-ups, push-ups, squat thrusts, under-overs, knees to elbows, sit-ups, air-squats, air lunges, box jumps, jumping pull-ups, running ( long distance and sprints) swim ( if you have access to a pool or good swimming lake), climb rope, and jump-rope.
