  1. Thats an easy question.  Just HUSTLE HUSTLE HUSTLE!  Prove to your coach that he/she can rely on you to give 110% of your effort always.  If a player does something wrong, instead of being the first one to get on their *** about how they screwed up, be the first one to lend a hand and say "unlucky" or "its ok youll get em next time"

One BIG doont is try to suck up to the coach and do crazy stuff to get his/her attention when theyre not looking...coaches just find that plain annoying.  hope this helps and good luck!

  2. dont act like you're the best one on the floor...people hate that...but be confident and always be cheerful...be confindent enough that you would talk to refs about calls and talk to a coach about  a problem with the team

  3. You must lead for others to follow. The strongest leaders do so by example.  If your work ethic is good, and attitude is good people will follow you. (show up to practice on time, work hard during practice, showing team spirit, cheering others on their good efforts, always wearing a practice uniform and a game uniform in good shape.)  People will always follow a leader weather it is positive or negative. Remember as a leader to be careful not to be a joiner, and make the right decisions for your group!

I tell employees of mine. I can teach you the job, but I can not teach you how to have a good attitude. You must come to work with a good attitude!

  4. It is actually pretty simple to be a captain, at first you have to be one of the more skilled players on the team. You can never show a weakness, hustle for every ball, sacrifice your body, and show your team and coach that you are 100% committed to the team and doing anything to win the game. In practice make sure you don't whine about the drills or what the coach is telling you to do, just do it, even if you don't like the drill act enthusiastic about doing it, and try your hardest in every drill. Don't discourage your teammates when they make a bad play, and try raising their spirits instead so that they make the play. Also, act confident when your out on the court, don't shy away from the ball, but call it everytime its near you, take every ball you can, and do it with confidence. Do as much as possible to help the team, and the coach will notice that.

  5. Um well to be the captain maybe you could work on your skilling to get a little better just so they can see that we they have a good player and also a good captain.. um also trying to be friends not being mean is a good way if ur not already everyones friend

  6. lead by example

  7. Be really loud on the court and even if you are on the bench.  Always encourage the other players and never put someone else down.  Give the other players some tips.  Don't tell them what to do and get all bossy about things just say stuff like hey you are a little early on the block or try to hit more to your right just little things like that.  Also be AGRESSIVE AND HUSTLE!!!

One more thing my coach always tells our team neveer to slouch when you are line judging and stuff it makes you appear less confident.  So always stand up staight in like team huddles and when your coach is talking to you.
