I want to be discoverd!!!?

Question

Hi I am 12 years old from Long Island and I can sing. I write my own songs. Also...me and my freinds are making our own movie. I have never acted anywhere else but i love to sing. Are there any auditions anywhere for disney? I want to be in Camp Rock 2 or some movie or show like that. What's the first step to take? How do I tell my parents? If I dont find anything now, I want to audition for American Idol when I am 16. Thanks for your help in advance!

Its awesome that you live in the New York area. My advice is to find an agent. You can look up them on the internet. (There are plenty in the New York area, trust me thats where I got mine!) Tell your parents that you have a serious passion for acting and suggest looking for a talent agency. Agents find you auditions and casting calls. Try and submit your movie to a talent agency or audition right there. You may also want to create a resume. Hope That Helps, GOOD LUCK!!! Keep your dream alive!! :)

You and a million just like you. the auditions are in LA.  The first step to take is to get into a play or musical at school or in the community and demonstrate if you have any talent., You cannot do anything professional until you are 18 unless your parents sign for you.  Better talk to them. Without  them working hard for your career, you are not going to have one.

Talk to your parents, join a quoir, get a website like on freewebs.com cause they are free and upload your songs to it for the world to hear (thats what I did) and go to exploretalent.com and ask your parents if you can sign up- they help thousands of people get discovered!

If you live on Long Island you are very lucky! You will find that you have many opportunites for acting and singing because you are so near to Broadway (and the wonderfully talented people that work in the area).

My suggestion is talk to your parents about your interest. I am sure they can help you find some local acting classes, voice lessons and dance. Community theatres also offer classes and perhaps some are going to be doing shows that need young people in them.

You can also look at your school to see if there are going to be any upcoming productions.

Gain experience and education...there is no such thing as an overnight star! Actors and Singers spend years working on their craft!

In addition, go see as many shows as you can....everytime you see something you will learn too!
