  1. Try taking David Suzuki's Nature Challenge (refer to my source)!  He's a very well-known environmentalist who's been promoting "green" awareness for a longggg time now.

Other things (I'm not sure if he mentions it or not) could simply be remembering to turn off the lights when you aren't using them, turning off the taps in between brushing your teeth, or if you're really into it, try changing to a low-flow showerhead or even a toilet!  I know in Toronto, you get a reimbursement for replacing your old toilet with a new low-flow one.  (After the reimbursement, your new toilet will really cost you only about $50 before labour fees.)

  2. I would recommend checking out http://www.greenandsave.com -- there you will find over 50 things that you can do that not only will help the environment but will also save you money.  Good luck

  4. You took the main step when you said "I want to be green" and you've got some good advice about how to start, use it and I promise you'll fell real good about yourself for having done so.

  5. save your plastic bags and reuse, start a compost.. ene a little one will make a difference... by plants as gifts, turn off lights, turn off stove/oven a little early and let the remaining heat finish cooking your food,, use plates/glasses instead of throwaways. use  egg shells  as fertilizer (crush up and place either on top of or under the soil.. you can put the shells in an empty milk jug and add water ans pour on plants (strong odor )

  6. --bring your own bags to the grocery store

--ride you bike or walk more.  this can reduce your carbon footprint and your body fat at the same time!

--don't just turn off your appliances, but unplug them when you're not using them. a powerstrip makes this especially easy.

--buy local foods.  grapes in the middle of winter may be nice, but when a food comes all the way from Chile the amount of energy it takes to get it to you is unreal.

--reuse everything you possibly can. glass bottles are especially good to rinse out and use again, and they can make a cheap water bottle that wont leach plastic into your water.  plastic bags can be used as garbage bags.

--you can bring your own tupperware to restaurants and opt not to use styrofoam for your leftovers.

--use the backs of paper, print on both sides

this is a great question.  all of the people who are making fun of it have obviously not come to the realization that humans are part of the ecosystem and we have a role in either maintaining the balance or throwing things totally out of whack depending on our actions. going green is good for the environment, it's usually good for your health, and it's good for your emotional well being and connection to the land.

  7. 1. PAINT UR SELF GREEN WITH CHEAP PAINT

    2. PUT YOUR FOOT IN ICE SO IT SHRINKS SO U DONT HAVE AS LARGE A FOOTPRINT

  8. Get a Kermit outfit and buy smaller shoes.

  9. Take a bath every other month, it will give you the green look

  10. "I want to be green."<<Work in a lab w/gamma radiation, & change your name to Dr.David Banner (?). Unfortunately, Hulkster DID have a pretty big foot print, though... Seriously, if you lower your personal electrical usage. Plus reducing your fossil fuel consumption. You'll be doing more than most. If everyone did just a little bit (<2% reduction) to reduce their personal usage/waste. We'd see huge savings in resources & money.
