  1. If you plan on studying music, english, or history in college then home school is great. Now if you want to study any of the sciences then you should just stay in school cause lets face it not every parent can explain trigonometry, calculus, or physics to their child.

  2. no need to know it continue in what u r there at present

  3. What it's like depends on you, your family, how it's done... Most homeschoolers have siblings homeschooling with them and one parent home. A number are home by themselves. How it will be for you will depend on your personal situation.

In terms of work, that depends, too, on what your parents decide. If they agree for you to homeschool, they might insist on a particular program and might help you, or they might just help you get stuff and leave you to do it yourself.

Sputnik's comment reflects a very limited experience. Obviously, you aren't choosing to be homeschooled because your parents are snobs and don't want you to go to school with different races or poor people. Plenty of homeschoolers have great social lives, are not socially inept and do fine in college. It all depends on what you do with the homeschooling.

  4. It can be amazing. It really depends on how you handle it. If you get hooked up with a good homeschool network or Co-op then it can be incredibly fun and social. I was homeschooled and I had several hundred good friends who were as well. I certainly didn't lack much in socialization. The hardest part is training yourself to be more independent. It will pay off in the long run though. I think you will find college easier if you homeschool during High school. I certainly am.

  5. Hi!! i use to be homeschooled and if you ask me I do not like it because I am more of the active outgoing and friendly kind and I love being around people but doesn't mean you shouldn't choose homeschooling. There are lots of different homeschooling. my mum use to teach me at home and i didn't really like it but if you are the quiet kind and wants to try something new than go ahead!! Cause i am on your side forr which side you will pick. Hope you pick the right choice!! xD Let say you chose homeschooling, you can quit if you don't like it . If i was you I might want to try something new and go for the homeschooling and if you don't feel comfortable than you can quit. now I am not doing homeschooling and i am going to a private school!! I love school now!! Thanks!! good Question!!! good luck on which way you chose i am on your side girl!!! Lolz

  6. Hi sara! I am a sophomore in high school and ive been home schooled all my life. I think home schooling when you are young is a really great thing because you can learn at your own pace. However, now that i'm in high school i realllllllly want to go to high school. I feel like i am missing out on so much by not going to school (in the means of clubs, sports dances and such) If you are going to be home schooled you have to be extremely self motivated because sometimes there are things you really dont understand and neither does your mom and then your kinda stuck. So really it just depends on what you like. By being home schooled you can definately learn a lot more than you would in a class room, you just miss out on some of those fun things. haha i hope this helped! good luck :)

  7. Like LindaPam says, it's what you make of it. If you stay home all day, every day, you'll be miserable and have no friends. If you use resources that don't suit you, you'll get frustrated and won't learn properly. The thing about homeschooling is you and your parents, as a team, have all the power. If something isn't working for you, you can change it. If you aren't going out enough, you can fix that. If you're going out too much, you can fix that. If you can't understand your maths curriculum, you can buy a different one. If you hate 19th century American literature, you can read something else. If you have a burning desire to learn leatherworking, you can take the time to do it. Obviously there are certain things you have to do, but most of those are pretty flexible.

So, the real question is, what do you want it to be like? What subjects do you want to study? What programs or other resources do you want to use? http://www.homeschoolreviews.com is a useful place to look. What extra curricular activities do you want to do? Who do you have around to help you out with your work?

  8. hi Sarah S,

If you don't want to go to the school then don't get bother. As you can take the advantage of online school.

You can also share your ideas to others and take ideas from others for your study and career.

I have one site which would be the perfect for you.

    Then visit that one

  9. What hs is like will be up to you, because there are so many different ways to hs.  If you are the kind of that needs a lot of structure, you could pick a curriculum that is very structured like joining an online school.  If you like just a bit of structure, you could take a class or two in a local homeschool group.  Some offer things like a chemistry lab or tennis lessons etc.  Here is a link to a site that reviews curriculum and explains approaches to homeschooling;

I would recommend typing in homeschool groups and your state in google and find out what groups and activities are in your area. Click on the websites of groups you find and call the contact person listed.  They will be a wealth of information concerning what clubs, activities, and group classes are offered in your area.

You can also volunteer at a local hospital or museum and gain work experience.  Also, colleges like to see volunteering  on a highschool transcript.  Join clubs in your area that will help you connect with other kids your age.  My kids are involved in Mock Trial, FBLA, Chorus, and youth groups. Just because you homeschool does not mean you can't hang out with the friends you already have.  keep those connections open and work on making new ones in the homeschool groups in your area.

This is just scratching the surface, but I hope it helps.

  10. There are as many different ways to homeschool as there are people who are homeschooling.  There is no "One Right Way" to homeschool!  You can do "school at home" with purchased curriculum materials and tests and scheduling and like that, or you can "unschool" which is just learning about whatever interests you at the time it interests you. while living a normal life.  Most people are someplace in between those two.

There's no reason for homeschoolers to be "socially inept" because they are free to associate with people of all ages, all social classes, whomever and whenever.  Lots of homeschoolers belong to a homeschool support group or co-op, which may have group classes taught by parents, tons of age-appropriate activities, may have team sports, may have clubs like 4H or chess club or whatever just like public schoolers.  They are also free to take classes in the community, like at the YW or YMCA or community center, like art, karate, weaving, music lessons, lots of things that public schooled kids are too busy with homework to be able to do.

  11. Getting out of bed when you like.  Not having to ride a bus.  Wearing your pajamas to class.  Not having to worry about whether the teacher is in a bad mood.  Finishing your work when you want to.  Not having specific homework, per se.  I can't imagine it being all that terrible.

  12. All the kids I knew who were homeschooled were also very socially inept and couldn't function in college (despite them getting a "better education").  In my town at least, these kids were the ones whose parents were snobs, who didn't want their kids to go to school with different races or poor people.  They were also generally very religious.

School might be a little rough, but you'll benefit from learning to deal with different types of people, your own age and teacher/professor age as well.

    Stay in school!  :)

  13. It is fun and it really is fun...... I mean you can enjoy life really well and have freedom. If you are going to a center then I am not sure but I can gurantee you that studying in the HOME with a tutor or your parents it really is fun. To me, I have one whole watching TV and an hour playing the computer..... You can eat what food you want too. If you ask your parents.
