  1. There are lot of online communities to help homeschool students. The one like http://www.examville.com/ does a nice job by including the features like:

    1) Online classes by best teachers from around the world.

    2) Unlimited access to tests like GRE, GMAT, SAT and LSAT

    2) Questions and Answers

Moreover, you can share your class notes, past exams and reference material with other students.

  2. Here is a blog that gives you some tips about talking with your parents about homeschooling. http://www.virtualonlineschool.blogspot....

Do you have a friend or family member who would like to have you hang out? Maybe a young mom that stays at home with her kids. ?We have a friend who does this. The mom likes having the company of the teen and the teen isn't all alone all day.

    Best of Luck!

  3. First, make a[n honest] list of reasons why you would like to be homeschooled. The idea of staying home all day by yourself sounds good, but if that's the only real reason...eh...

If you honestly think you would learn better 1-1, then maybe you should bring that up, but if it's about independence and freedom, you are really going to be just as tied down to school in your own home as you would at a school building or something. I went through a period where I felt that I could really escape the world, its problems, my problems, people at school, etc. through homeschooling, but it just wouldn't be practical with our current family situation, and I was very angry and upset for a while, going into high school, but now I'm fine and happier than ever.

Just be open about attending "regular" school and enjoy it while you can instead of being down that you can't lounge around all day at home  (though that's not what homeschooling's about; it's just a different learning and teaching style).

  4. you should show her the benefits of being homeschooled.  and maybe she's just making up excuses so you wont get homeschooled.
