  1. I am also a 9The Grader and I love being home schooled. We do have a set time we usually wake up. i think homeschooling is a good idea because your parents control what you're learning and you can make alot of nice people from home school groups in the area. In some areas museums will hold days when homeschooling can come and do a special class. Some homeschooling go part-time to some classes at a public school. We do a online writing class called Write at Home. www.writeathome.com

  2. The following benefits may be found in home education:

Parents have more quality time to train and influence their children.

There is opportunity for each child to receive individualized attention and instruction.

Parents are able to give guidance in areas of philosophy and religion.

Children develop respect for parents as teachers.

Spending more time together increases family unity and closeness.

It provides a good environment for development of confidence and independent thinking.

There is enhanced communication between all age groups due to the diversified learning environment.

Home-schooled students demonstrate excellent academic progress.

School hours are flexible to accommodate family schedules and vacations.

    More freedom

    They also socialize as well!

I have to wake up because my younger siblings go to school, so I get up and help them get out the door!  So around 6:10a.m. I wake up

I spend at least 4 hours on my work a day.

Here is the program I use, its ILC.org

You can also you k12, my friend uses that.

I am in 10th grade, and homeschooled since 9th~

  3. Homeschooling is great because you can learn at your own pace.  You have have more flexibility because you don't have to deal with school schedules.  You have more free time to pursue interests and activities, and do fun projects and field trips.

You also won't have to deal with negative peer pressure or bullying from other kids.  You'll spend more time in the real world and be better prepared for life after graduation.

Online homeschooling is a great option if you are able to learn independently and self motivated to complete assignments.

  4. this is what i think of the benifits:

children gets closer to their parents as they spend more time together.

and it's easier to ask questions to your parents if you have one, coz sometimes it's hard for us to ask in class in front of everybody.

and the child gives more respect to his or her parents coz they are not only the ones who took care of them but also one who EDUCATES them.

parents feel easier t control their children because they can point out their mistakes if there is something they did wrong without embarassing them in front of a whole class.

the student feels more secured as the group is small and the parents feel sure of the child's progress as it is easy to see.

about the wake up thing, it's just like going to school. the student and teacher plan their work time together. so it's something easier to work out.

and homework. ahhhhh....... it's up to the teacher. it depends on what your parents think. and how much time you need.

and i don't know about that, since i've never heard bout it before.

  5. For the 1st semester of this school year (07-08) I started doing online school, I had quit public school. My online school really wasted my time, they were holding me back in school (not because I was stupid or anything) they just didn't want everything to be so 'hard' on me. The only benefits I got out of it were extra time at home, sleeping in and basically being lazy. I didn't have a set time to wake up because I could do my work at any time of the day. Some online schools will have you log into the school site and work on your classes for a certain amount of time (I've heard some have you do at least 6 hours a day), my school didn't have us do this though. If you haven't had many problems with public school, I'd go ahead and stay in it because in the end you'll probably get a lot more out of it than homeschooling. plus you'll have more experience with people, and probably lots of great memories :)

  6. I was home schooled from preschool to secondary education:

    the benifts are:

You get to have more of a healthy relationship with your family and also with yourself

You learn to be indipendant at an earlier age as so much home learning is done by choice

and I found that if you join a home education group you get friends for life

Hope this help, but do remeber that Home schooling is no walk in the park, but it is awsome!!!!!
