I'm 16, passed my GCSE's with decent enough grades to go back and do A Levels. (GCSE results are; 2 B's, 6 C's and 2 D's)

I want to take English Lit, Maths, Spanish and probably Economics.

After A Levels (depending on grades obviously), I'm planning on going to Uni and doing a degree.

I've completed 2 BTEC's with Distinction (Music and Public Services)

With all the above said, should I join as an Admin Officer or not?

what are the advantages and disadvantages of an officer?

  1. Better food better money, many more problems.

  2. your  a way away yet. Admin officers only need a-levels to get in. You get more money as an officer, you move around more, as admin you would have a better than most of a chance of an overseas tour. when you first start out you have to act a certain way extra things to pay for such as mess dress, you will be under the wing of a SNCO or warrant officer, and at times new officers can struggle to run the show, they can be railroaded by the WO's. You tend to be in charge of the admin flight looking after all the cash (not directly) the people in your section would try and sort people admin pay annual reviews out things like that.

I'm not an officer so don't know all the ins and outs, but it doesn't appeal to me too many meetings, ok for some people though. If you go to uni join as an cadet officer, although it does give you that much of an idea it's better than nothing.

  3. Stand by your beds for here comes the air vice marshall, he's got lots of rings but he's only got one @rsole

  4. Mate

ur best bet is to go down th armed forces recruitment office, tlk to sum1 frm th raf bout th possible career paths u have open to u. Also go on th RAF website an have a gd look there

i wood def recommend a degree, better pay an a slightly faster promotion to certain ranks.

most officers have to do admin anyway, it jst depends on what area u go in to, i fink its either aeronautics or communications as an engineering officer, an several of my mates r goin down those paths.

well best of luck for ur future, hope this has helped
