I want to be in tv commercials...?

i want to be in tv commercials sooooooooo badly but my parents say NO to acting classes. They say it's a waste of money and time. is there a way to STILL be in commercials? How? I live in Virginia Beach and can go to auditions there and and in Norfolk.What would I do at an audition? What would I need? I am 11 and a girl.

google search adds for auditions in your area. normally the add will give details, if it doesn't, its not legit. look for adds looking for a child girl NOT young girl. and try to find ones that say "no expirience necessary" or "we provide free acting classes" they wont be good classes but enough to get you in good enough shape for the part.

remember you dont need an agent for commercials,

and if they try getting you to pay for ANYTHING then its a scam.

First off, find a way to convince your parents that this is what you really, really want. Show them you are determined and commited to actually make it work. If that doesnt work then do the work on your own and then show them that your doing it.

So the first thing you need is a headshot and a resume. If you have a decent camera you can take a picture in black and white and it has to 8 x 10. Ask a friend to help take it. It has to look natural and like YOU. Then you have to get a resume. If you don't have any professional work thats ok because you have to start from somewhere. If you've ever been in school plays, little events where you had to act or a voice over. Anything that has to do with acting, dancing, modeling or singing.

A resume should basically look like this: ( Just an example)

(have this be in the center)YOUR NAME

(left)adress & phone number here (align this to the right---->)age range, hair color, eye color

experience:

- high school musical as sharpay evans - school production - 2008

- mccdonalds commercial as girl who ate chicken meal -2006

- the wizard of oz as dorothy - school production -1999

(have it in order, from when you were little to now)

education:

dr phillips high school (2006 - present)

hobbies/ interests:

singing

playing guitar/ piano

dancing

fashion design

swimming

cheerleading

volleyball

You can add as much as you want to these sections except for education because they only want to know your current education. :]

Show this to your parents and see what they tell you now. Hopefully they'll see that this is something you really want.
