The midfielder has reiterated his desire to emulate the French star, after sealing a move to Juventus.
Although revered for his seemingly sublime abilities, Paul Pogba has endured a controversial career so far, with his transfer to Old Trafford raising up questions in the media.
The then 16-year-old was accused of being tapped up by the Red Devils, but the dispute soon ended and he began his ascension at Carrington.
Seen as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson took him under his wing and promised him a bright future in Manchester if he continued his scintillating displays.
However money proved to be a major stumbling block during his stay at United, with the club not giving in to his demands of an increasing role in the first team and as well as a large pay rise.
This led to a standoff between the two parties and eventually culminated in Pogba departing for greener pastures in Italy.
Though his attitude has come under scrutiny, his talents remain undoubted and he has been likened to former French International Patrick Vieira, who himself made his name with Juventus.
As a vivid fan of his, Pogba has also voiced his desire to replicate his role model’s feats and claimed that other Juve stars such as Pirlo and Ibrahimović also had a profound influence on him.
"Andrea Pirlo is a great player and I can guarantee I can play in front of the defenders like he does. I would say that my style of play is inspired in that of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Patrick-Vieira-c29316, but I want to make my mark,” he said.
"There are three players in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Claudio-Marchisio-c9312,” the ex-Le Havre man starlet was quoted as saying.
While his move to Turin is close to be officially announced, Pogba will face intense competition for a starting role at the helm, with Pirlo already a dominating figure in the centre of the park.
Nonetheless the club have promised him the allure of regular game time and it could prove to be wise decision, if he lives up to his potential.
