I got my raise 8 weeks after I was supposed to. My boss forgot to put me into the system for the raise even though I asked him 3 times. He finally did it and I told him I wanted to be reimbursed but he said the general manager cannot reimburse me for my raise I was supposed to get. Is this even legal? what should I do? I got a 50 cent raise and I missed 8 weeks without the raise while two of my other co workers got theres on time. I work at Finish Line.

  1. I would check with your HR department.

Get yourself organized and do the following:

    Be Polite!

Get a copy of your review.

    Confirm your work anniversary date.

If this was an annual review, and your company has an annual review policy, then they most likely owe you the retroactive amount. Stay calm, check the policy first, check state employment law, and then ask to speak to your G.M. Keep records and dates in case some idiot fires you for this.

Most State Dept of Revenue and the IRS frown on employers who do this kind of thing because the taxpayers lose the extra tax revenue.

    Good Luck and be careful.

  2. Well ask again, and if you got no resonse that you want to hear, then make sure you've gotten written prove of everything thats been said and ask for the documentations as to why they didn't do what they were suppose to do, and then contact a lawyer maybe?

  3. I dealt with this EXACT problem when I was working in fast food. Contact your local Employment Standards office...I am not sure what it would be in the States. They will tell you what to do.

    You deserve that money!
