  1. I am a social worker, and I was actually offered a job with Children's Division but declined due to a better paying job.  Plenty of my friends work with the service, and they really enjoy their line of work.  I actually started college (so yes you need your high school diploma or G.E.D.) as a business major, but after doing an internship with hospice I switched to social work.  You will go to college and start a human services or social work plan (depending on the school you attend) and then go on to your Bachelor's in Social Work (BSW) after all the core classes are taken (similar to what you take in high school, such as Algebra, Foreign Language, Biology with a lab, Statistics, Psychology, Sociology, etc.) and then continue on through the mapped out degree program choosing the electives you please.  It's really not a difficult program if you enjoy learning about people, organizations, and society.  Good luck!

  2. Talk to your guidance counselor he/she will have all of the info, what a great career choice!
