I want to be the best runner on my jv xc team?!?

theres a couple people that are still better then me...how can i train outside of practices? what are the best ways?

  1. go practice at a track or something take a friend or some one that is better that you and do 400 rps 1 lap each at a different pace dont start that till you do a warm up like a mile but time it and every practice go a little faster than your best time before


  2. If you want to train outside of practices, try some muscle workouts, that is, if you didn't do any at practice. You could try some ab workouts, to align your pelvis, and make you a stronger runner. In most of your xc practices, you'll probably just run a specific number of miles, so right after you finish those, add on another mile at a faster pace, to teach you to run fast when you're tired. You could also do some speed workouts like sprints, and short distance repititions outside of practice. Hope this helps and good luck!
