  1. Well,  One of the things that helps is to be very well liked by the teachers.  Have you studied very hard the whole time you have been at that school?  Do the teachers know who you are?  Will they be the ones that vote for you?

I would just continue to make good grades, even perfect grades, and study hard the whole year.    Always be on time and have your supplies and home work ready.

To be a Valedictorian,  you have to be a leader... someone that all of the people respect and look up to...  you have to be one of the smart ones... and maybe the smartest one.   You have to definately Stand Out amongst the rest of the group.

So whatever that takes,  you will have to get busy doing... and I admire you very much for wanting to do your very best.  I hope you make it.  If all of the kids were like you... we would have nothing to worry about.   You value your education and want to make a better person of yourself.  And I know you are not wondering why phones are banned in schools.  :))

    Sincerely,

    RJS - teacher.

  2. In my honest opinion Valedictorian should be reserved for the last year of secondary education and tertiary education.

Grades 1-10 are a joke anyway.

Anyway, if you want top score, just do good. Get all 100%.

  3. This is way up my alley. I'm also in the 6th Grade and am aiming for the same position. The different thing is that I was the top 1 student last year. I don't mean to brag though.

Here are a few quick tips:

    1. Even though you don't feel like it, listen closely to the teacher and take down notes.

    2. Learn how to accept mistakes. They're really important in the long run.

    3. If you don't understand something, ask.

    4. When you study, do it all in the same place. If possible, make sure that you don't get interrupted or distracted.

    5. If you feel tired, take a short break.

    6. Try to brush up on all your subjects in advance.

    7. Learn how to balance your time and to set your priorities.

    8. It's doing your best that counts, and try to have some fun as well.

    9. Even the really "small" things count. Never take them for granted.

Bonus tip: Believe in yourself. Even when you are overshadowed and when you fall. Pick yourself up and try again.

I really hope that helped. The odd thing is, I'm also in the Philippines.
