  1. Hi.

You will need a BA/BS...which you will not be able to get from a C.C.  So, you'll need to go to a regular university after you complete the first two years.

Secondly, after you apply (you can do this online or meet with a counselor--talking someone would be nice) then you apply for grants or loans (don't let loans deter you from fulfilling your dreams--most of us have them)

One thing that you really need to consider is what subject you want to teach.  The teach HS you need to have a degree in something other than just teaching (ie: English, science, gym) and then your license will be a secondary Education license.

    So it's kinda like this:

    Major: (area of expertise)

Minor: Secondary Education in that area of expertise

License: After you take the appropriate test (in CO it is called the PLACE or--the PRAXIS is a national test) then you are able to get your license.

Last thing to consider is student teaching.  You pay for it, you work really hard and you don't get paid...  but it is necessary.

Teaching is very rewarding and if it is a dream for you then I recommend going after it.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers!

  2. go to collage and major in teaching.  I know that u will need to go to prep school also the total time including being a observer for an year 7 years+

  3. You can start off at a community college and take the general classes that every degree has to take; like your englishes, maths, sciences, and social studies.  Then you can transfer to a university and major in secondary education.  You will need to decide which subject you would like to teach.  Once you are at the university, you will take classes to help you teach that subject.  If you are unsure about a big university I think starting off at a community college is a perfect idea.  If you have a local school, go and get some information from them and do some research.

  4. Search for "teacher certification" + "your state".

Also, go to your local university and visit the education department.  You need to see what they require before going to the community college.

As a recommendation, if you have any maths or sciences to take, get them out of the way at the community college.  From my experience, the professors at the university level are much more difficult in those areas.

  5. No, you can't do it all in a community college.  To teach 9th grade you need to choose the subject you want to teach and get a degree in that subject, then do a teaching credential.

Look up teacher credentialing programs in your area and they will tell you what is required.  The exact requirements vary from state to state.
