Hello,

I am presently leaning the RAD grade 5 syllabus and eventually want to teach ballet.

I am 24 years old and feel very passionate about it.

Is this possible or have I missed the boat?

Thanks in advance

  1. well if your really interested why not

  2. Of course, you can if you have the passion, the will and the determination. You sound very passionate so that's ticked so all you need to do is to believe in yourself and your ability.

  3. you can become a ballet teacher at any age. i had one who was like....70, and i've had one who is young. Go for it!

  4. i think you've possibly missed the boat sweetie ..

to be a ballet teacher .. you need to complete intermediate and all the things after that ..

then you need to go to a good performing arts school and get teaching qualifications ..

you also need lots of experience.. people don't want to hire people with lack of experience ..

dancing is the most competitive occupation ..

there are so many amazing dancers out of work ..

but anything is possible .. it doesn't mean you have to give up ballet .. you can do classes all your life .. maybe be if you get your teaching qualifications your dance teacher can recommend you top people ..?

    good luck babe !!   :)

  5. Of course it's not too late. I'm not sure about RAD but ISTD you have to pass intermediate then do  do FDI(foundation in dance instruction) and advanced 1 then do CDE(certificate in dance education).I know people of your age and older that are doing this now. Go on RAD website and see what they require.I also know alot of people that have swapped to ISTD when done as well.Good Luck from Stella Palmer school of Dance.
