  1. Off-ring training will involve....

Running or jogging for at least 2 or 3 miles to improve stamina.

Also, doing jump rope for 3-5 minutes will improve your stamina.

You can also shadow-box away from the rings and the punching bags.

Shadow boxing is pretending to box--that is, boxing with an imaginary opponent and using blocks, punches and combinations that you know. Also, when you shadow-box, use

feinting techniques in your hops to surprise the opponent.

    In-ring training will involve....

.....using both the speed bag and the block punching bag, and using training opponents in the actual boxing ring with full gear on in preparation for your first fight.

  2. i wanna become a boxer also.. Im 12.. but im going to be fighting at the amateur level.

  3. You shouldn't have believed them when they said you should wait til your 17. You should have started even earlier...when you're 14 or 15, fight at the amateur level and learn all the necessary skills. By 17, you should have turned pro already, fighting for your records. By age 25 or 26, you could be fighting in Vegas already, vying or defending a title.

But it's not too late yet. Double the effort. Make up for lost time. Train like crazy. Learn fast, too.

  4. nothing you can do about th past but their is actually no age restriction on boxing. A lot of boxers who have gone professional started when they were 12 years old. If you think going amateur is a waste of time then you won't get anywhere in your career. if your so tuff then why don't you go through it and prove yourself. Sounds to me like you don't have any clue what you are talking about. The Olympics are amateur athletes and with an attitude like that you would get knocked out easily by anyone on that level and much below it.

If you want to box then you need to join a boxing gym and yes you need to start with some amateur competition before anyone is going to want to go professional with you as a trainer and as a manager.
