I want to become a chriopractor and im not sure how to start.

im a senior in high school and i want to become a chriopractor.

if anyone can please help answer any of my questions it will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

- what should i major in ? ...Biology ?

- is it hard to become one?

-Hows the work load in college?

-any advice going into the field?

-is there a demand for chriopractors in NY?

  1. Biology is what you major in undergrad. No, it's not hard to get in. the work load is about 12 to 18 credit hr per semester. And yes, there is a need for chiropractors..


  2. To become a chiropracter you go to college, take the premedical courses, and then go to chiropractic school. It doesn't matter what you major in in college, so long as you take the basic pre-medical courses you will need in your professional school training. There are several  chiropractic schools in the country. You can find all of them quickly on-line by typing "chiropractic school" into google. There is a good one at the University of Bridgeport, in Bridgeport CT. The schooling takes four years after college.

    I would talk to a few chiropracters and find out how they are doing; I do not know about demand in NY but they appear to be all over, so there must be some demand. They do good work relieving lower back pain, and many working people and those with stressful lives get that and need relief. They also counsel people on healthy life styles.
